Golden Boy 2025 Race Heats Up: Desire Doue Emerges as Top Contender
The Golden Boy 2025 award has revealed its list of 25 top European talents under the age of 21, spotlighting emerging stars who made a significant impact across major leagues. Notably absent is last year’s winner, Lamine Yamal, who is ineligible due to the rule preventing repeat victories. This year’s spotlight falls on PSG’s Desire Doue, whose standout season of 16 goals and 16 assists, including a decisive performance in the Champions League final, places him as the leading favorite. He is joined by teammate Warren Zaïre-Emery, along with strong contenders from Spain such as Pau Cubarsí, Dean Huijsen, and Arda Güler.
The Premier League asserts its presence with nine nominees, featuring rising names from Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, Manchester United, and Manchester City. Additional intrigue comes from five Wild Card entries, including Jobe Bellingham of Borussia Dortmund, marking a new chapter for football’s next generation.
