PSM Makassar Set to Unveil New Head Coach with Global Experience

PSM Makassar is preparing to introduce a new head coach to lead the team through the remainder of the 2025-26 Super League season. The club has been temporarily managed by caretaker Ahmad Amiruddin following the resignation of Bernardo Tavares. In recent weeks, the management explored several candidates and after thorough discussions, has finalized a selection.
The chosen coach is considered a strong fit for the team’s current needs and ambitions. The management conducted interviews to evaluate the candidate’s character and ideas, ensuring alignment with PSM Makassar’s objectives. Preparations for the appointment, including work permits and other documentation, are currently underway.
The official introduction of the new coach is expected in early November, bringing a fresh perspective to the squad. The candidate is set to arrive in Makassar along with one assistant, signaling the start of a new chapter for the club. The decision comes after a careful selection process to secure leadership that can enhance the team’s performance.
The incoming coach comes from Europe and brings extensive experience across European, African, and Asian football leagues, although this will be their first role in Indonesia. The arrival of a globally seasoned coach is seen as a strategic move to strengthen the squad, improve competitiveness, and provide a new vision for the club moving forward.
