Indonesia U-22 Prepares for SEA Games with November 2025 FIFA Matchday Call-Up

Indonesia U-22 Prepares for SEA Games with November 2025 FIFA Matchday Call-Up

The Indonesian U-22 national team has been confirmed to participate in the upcoming FIFA Matchday scheduled from November 10 to 18, 2025. This decision was announced as part of the team’s preparation for the SEA Games later in December. The PSSI chairman emphasized that the priority during this period is to strengthen the squad for the regional tournament.
Erick Thohir highlighted that the U-22 team, under the guidance of Coach Indra Sjafri, will receive full support from the association. PSSI aims to optimize the squad’s performance and ensure maximum readiness for the SEA Games. Internal meetings and evaluations have been conducted to carefully select players capable of contributing immediately during the November FIFA break.
Several diaspora players have been called up to join the team, including Adrian Wibowo from the United States, Marselino Ferdinan from Slovakia, and Mauro Zijlstra and Ivar Jenner from the Netherlands. Their inclusion reflects Indonesia’s effort to strengthen the squad with talent playing abroad, ensuring a competitive lineup for upcoming matches.
The focus on the U-22 team comes after the senior team’s coaching vacancy following Patrick Kluivert’s departure. With no permanent head coach for the senior squad, the November FIFA Matchday has been repurposed entirely for youth development. PSSI’s strategy aims to balance immediate results with long-term preparation for the region’s major tournament.
