Abramovich Denies Rumors of Buying Galatasaray

Roman Abramovich has officially denied reports linking him to a potential takeover of Turkish club Galatasaray. The rumors, originating from Turkish media, suggested that the former Chelsea owner planned to become a major shareholder and had even purchased a luxury property in Istanbul in preparation for a move.
Abramovich’s representatives quickly dismissed the claims, confirming that the billionaire has no intention of investing in any football club. The clarification comes amid ongoing speculation about his post-Chelsea activities, following his sale of the English club in 2022.
Abramovich is well-known for his transformative impact on Chelsea, having led the club to multiple domestic and European titles during his tenure from 2003 until 2022. He sold the club to a consortium led by Todd Boehly for £4.25 billion after facing UK government sanctions linked to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Since leaving professional football, Abramovich has repeatedly emphasized that he has no interest in returning to club ownership. He has expressed that his involvement may be limited to supporting youth initiatives or visiting Stamford Bridge as a spectator, firmly closing the chapter on his active role in the sport.
