Sun Exclusive: McTominay Eyeing Premier League Return Due to 'Suffocating' Fan Attention in Naples
According to an exclusive report by The Sun showbiz correspondent Richard Moriarty, Scotland international Scott McTominay is considering a surprising return to the Premier League due just over a year after moving to Italy, as his off-field life in Naples has become challenging.

McTominay, 28, has enjoyed immense success since his transfer from Manchester United to Napoli last summer. He helped the team secure the Serie A title in his debut season, scoring 12 goals en route to being named Player of the Year and finishing 18th in the prestigious Ballon d’Or voting.

This season, the midfielder has added three more goals, but Napoli’s form has dipped, leaving them third in the table, two points behind leaders AC Milan.

Despite his on-pitch success, the intense adoration from the Neapolitan faithful is reportedly taking a toll. A source told The Sun: "Scott loves elements of Italian life, and his first season was amazing. But the passion of the fans can be a blessing and a curse. He is treated like a God out there, but that means simple things are hard to do without being mobbed when he's not training. The attention is suffocating."

McTominay lives in Naples with his long-term girlfriend, Cameron Reading. Given his recent struggles with the level of celebrity, a return to England's top flight is now a distinct possibility.
