Wenger on El Clásico: Real Madrid’s Maturity Made it 'Adults vs. Children'
Arsène Wenger shared his assessment of El Clásico on beIN Sports, where Real Madrid defeated FC Barcelona 2-1. The former Arsenal manager likened the contest, at times, to "adults against children," pointing to a significant gulf in maturity and stability between the two sides.

Wenger specifically praised Real Madrid's tactical balance, noting that "Xabi Alonso balanced his team well today." He highlighted the contrast in defense, where Real Madrid was far more solid, and in attack, where they constantly pressured for another goal. Conversely, without Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha, Barcelona's offense appeared toothless."Even after [Kylian] Mbappé missed the penalty, Barcelona had more possession in the second half but couldn't create genuine chances," Wenger observed.

The Frenchman attributed Barcelona's deficit to a lack of experience and maturity, particularly following the loss of Iñigo Martínez, one of their few veterans in defense. "In the process of Mbappé's goal today, you could clearly see the immaturity and lack of experience in the Barcelona backline when dealing with the situation."

Wenger concluded that key moments of "top quality" determined the outcome. He praised Mbappé’s decisive intent and Bellingham’s "fantastic" assist, skills that Barcelona lacked. "In the end, you understand that it is that 'top level'—that unique ability—that decides the game: including great vision and decisive movement," he asserted.
