Sky Italia: De Bruyne Set to Return to Belgium, Favors Surgery for Hamstring Tear

Belgian star Kevin De Bruyne is preparing to return to Belgium as he weighs his treatment options after being sidelined for an estimated three to four months. According to the latest reports from Sky Italia, the player is currently leaning toward surgical intervention rather than conservative therapy.
De Bruyne sustained the injury during the first half of the match between Napoli and Inter Milan, immediately after scoring a penalty. He was visibly in significant pain and had to be helped off the pitch, confirming fears of a serious issue.
Subsequent medical examinations confirmed the severity of the injury: a major muscle tear that is expected to require three to four months of recovery time, effectively ending his 2025 campaign prematurely.
The decision now rests on whether to undergo surgery or pursue a non-surgical approach, similar to the conservative treatment previously chosen by Romelu Lukaku for a different injury. Sky Italia suggests that De Bruyne is strongly favoring the surgical route as he prepares for his return home to Belgium.
