Three World-Class Coaches Eye Indonesia National Team Role

Following uncertainty over the futures of Shin Tae-yong, Timur Kapadze, and Hussein Ammouta, three high-profile coaches have reportedly expressed interest in leading the Indonesia national team. Each of these coaches carries significant credentials, with backgrounds as elite players and extensive managerial experience. Their potential availability has sparked excitement among fans and media, highlighting the national team’s ambition to attract international expertise.
The first candidate, Roberto Donadoni from Italy, is a former AC Milan legend and ex-head coach of the Italian national team. Although he has not achieved notable success in recent years, Donadoni has managed several Serie A clubs and most recently coached in the Chinese Super League. His experience and availability without transfer complications make him a practical option for Indonesia.
The second coach, Juan Carlos Osorio from Colombia, has built a successful career across Latin America, winning multiple domestic titles and managing national teams such as Mexico and Paraguay. Osorio is known for his strategic approach and leadership in international tournaments. Currently unattached after leaving Club Tijuana in early 2025, he could join Indonesia without financial hurdles, offering a wealth of experience from both club and national team management.
The third candidate, Oscar Garcia from Spain, is a former Barcelona youth coach with extensive club experience in Europe, including stints in England, France, Austria, and Greece. Garcia has achieved his greatest success with RB Salzburg, winning league and cup titles in Austria. Although he has no prior national team experience, his diverse coaching background and current availability make him an appealing candidate for the Indonesian Football Association to consider.
