Alexander-Arnold on Real Madrid Move: 'A Dream Come True,' Taking Three Hours of Spanish Lessons Weekly

Real Madrid star Trent Alexander-Arnold has spoken exclusively to Amazon Video about his life in Madrid following his summer move, calling the experience a "dream come true" and detailing his commitment to adapting to Spanish culture.
Speaking about his move from Liverpool, the English right-back expressed deep satisfaction: "Honestly, it feels great. I am enjoying every minute of being here. It’s very different from back home, but it feels particularly good. The teammates, the staff, the club, and the people around me have been incredibly nice, making me feel very integrated."
Alexander-Arnold confirmed that his best friend at the club is Jude Bellingham. To aid his transition, the 27-year-old revealed his intense dedication to language learning: "Yes, I take Spanish lessons every week, and I've kept it up since I joined Real Madrid. It’s three hours per session."
On the pitch, the defender shared his profound admiration for manager Xabi Alonso, dating back to Alonso's time at Liverpool. Alexander-Arnold recalled watching Alonso and Steven Gerrard, noting that they showed him that "passing is an art." He described the distinct sound of a perfect, clean pass, saying, "You can 'hear' a great pass."
The defender confirmed that Alonso remains highly involved, stating, "He absolutely loves to participate in training, genuinely loves it," and believes the manager could still play professionally, given his high football IQ.
Despite admitting initial shyness about interrupting meetings when he didn't understand the fast Spanish, Alexander-Arnold says he now generally understands his instructions, joking that sometimes he would mess up drills by taking "too many touches."
