Nathan Ake Eyes New Challenge Amid Limited Opportunities at Manchester City

Nathan Ake is reportedly considering a move away from Manchester City in the upcoming January transfer window to secure more regular playing time. The Dutch defender has struggled for minutes this season, making only five Premier League appearances, and is motivated to maintain his chances of a World Cup 2026 call-up.
Interest in Ake has already emerged from several clubs, including Inter Milan, Juventus, and Crystal Palace, with City open to selling him for a fee in the range of €30-35 million. Both Italian clubs are particularly keen on his versatility, able to play as a center-back, left-back, or in a three-man defensive line.
Crystal Palace also sees Ake as a key addition ahead of Marc Guehi’s potential departure, aiming to strengthen their backline either in January or next summer. Juventus and Palace appear to be leading the chase, preparing to make formal offers once the transfer window opens.
While Manchester City is not under pressure to sell, they are willing to let Ake go if the price meets their valuation. The move could provide Ake with the playing time he seeks while offering interested clubs a flexible and experienced defensive option.
