Pegadaian Championship 2025-26 Heats Up as Promotion Contenders Emerge
While Indonesia’s top-tier league takes a pause for FIFA Matchday, the second-tier Pegadaian Championship 2025-26 continues at full pace, drawing attention with its competitive battles. After 11 weeks, several teams have started to distinguish themselves as strong candidates for promotion, with only three slots available to advance to the BRI Super League.

In Group 1, Garudayaksa currently dominates the standings with a solid 23 points, followed by Adhiyaksa FC with 19 points and Sumsel United close behind with 17 points. The race among these top three clubs is tight, and each victory or loss has significant implications for who will secure promotion by the end of the season.

Group 2 is equally intense, with Barito Putera leading the pack at 25 points, while PSS Sleman trails closely with 23 points. Persipura Jayapura, under the guidance of experienced coach Rahmad Darmawan, occupies the third spot with 20 points, signaling a possible return to the top tier for clubs that have previously dominated Indonesia’s football scene.

Not all clubs are thriving, however. Sriwijaya FC and PSIS Semarang find themselves at the bottom of their respective groups with only 2 points each. Both teams face financial and performance challenges, and unless significant improvements are made, they risk relegation to the third tier in the upcoming season, highlighting the high stakes and volatility of the league.
