Galatasaray Eyes January Move for Inter Milan’s Hakan Calhanoglu

Galatasaray is reportedly preparing a new bid to acquire Hakan Calhanoglu, the experienced midfielder of Inter Milan. The Turkish club had previously attempted to sign him last summer, along with domestic rivals Fenerbahce, engaging in discussions with his agent. However, Calhanoglu ultimately chose to remain at San Siro, where he has reestablished himself as a key figure under Cristian Chivu.

Despite Inter Milan’s €30 million valuation deterring previous offers, Galatasaray has not abandoned its pursuit. The club sees Calhanoglu as a valuable addition both on the pitch and as a marketing asset, highlighting the strategic importance of the potential transfer. Sources indicate that the team is likely to submit a renewed proposal during the upcoming January transfer window.

Calhanoglu, 31, still has less than two years remaining on his Inter contract, and the Italian side is expected to maintain its asking price. His consistent performances and leadership in midfield make him a highly valued player for the Nerazzurri, which complicates negotiations. Galatasaray’s determination suggests they are willing to explore all options to bring him back to Turkey.

Although the high price tag prevented a move in the summer, it remains uncertain whether significant concessions will be made in the winter window. The situation points to a challenging negotiation ahead, with both sides weighing financial demands against sporting ambitions, making a transfer possible but far from guaranteed.
