Tottenham’s Guglielmo Vicario Open to Inter Move as Nerazzurri Prepare for Goalkeeper Transition

Guglielmo Vicario is reportedly willing to consider a move to Inter Milan at the end of the upcoming season, creating an opening for the Nerazzurri as they search for a long-term option in goal. The Italian goalkeeper joined Tottenham in the summer of 2023 from Empoli as the club’s chosen successor to Hugo Lloris and quickly adapted to the demands of Premier League football.

Inter had previously explored the possibility of signing Vicario as a replacement for André Onana, but negotiations with Empoli stalled over the transfer fee. As a result, the club shifted their focus to Yann Sommer, who arrived from Bayern Munich under favorable terms and has since been a steady presence between the posts.

However, Sommer’s contract runs only until June 2026, and the club do not appear inclined to offer him an extension. With the veteran approaching the end of his time in Milan, Inter are preparing for a transition and once again evaluating options for the future. This situation has led them back to Vicario, whose profile fits their long-term needs.

Meanwhile, Vicario’s position at Tottenham has become more uncertain. A portion of the club’s supporters have grown less supportive of him, and the London side are reportedly showing increasing interest in Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martínez as a potential replacement. These developments could make the prospect of returning to Italy more appealing for the 27-year-old.

With both clubs navigating their own goalkeeper situations, Vicario’s openness to a move aligns perfectly with Inter’s plans for the post-Sommer era. As the season progresses, the possibility of a summer transfer is expected to gain momentum, potentially offering the goalkeeper a fresh start back in Serie A.
