Hugo Lloris Extends LAFC Stay Until 2027, Committing to MLS Project

Los Angeles FC has secured veteran French goalkeeper Hugo Lloris with a contract extension that keeps him at the MLS club until 2027. The agreement highlights the club’s commitment to building a long-term project around experienced and high-profile players.
Lloris joined LAFC in 2024 after concluding a 12-year career at Tottenham Hotspur. During his time in the Premier League, he made 447 appearances but did not win a major trophy, despite serving as team captain and leading them to the 2019 Champions League final.
Since moving to MLS, Lloris has made 91 appearances and played a key role in helping LAFC win the U.S. Open Cup last year. His performances have reinforced his reputation as a reliable and influential presence between the posts.
The 38-year-old French international, who holds the record for the most appearances for his country, expressed enthusiasm for remaining with LAFC. He sees the club as an ideal environment to continue playing at a high level while contributing to an ambitious project.
This season, Lloris has maintained a 69.6% save rate and has formed a strong partnership with Son Heung-min, who joined LAFC in August. Despite the team’s semifinal exit against Vancouver Whitecaps in the Western Conference, Lloris’ presence offers stability and leadership for the club’s ongoing aspirations.
