Early Transfer Move Signals Semen Padang’s Fight for Survival

Semen Padang FC created a surprise by officially announcing the arrival of two foreign players ahead of the mid-season transfer window in the 2025–26 Super League. The decision drew attention because clubs typically wait until the window opens, highlighting Semen Padang’s urgency to strengthen the squad as soon as possible.
The first signing is Kianz Froese, an attacking midfielder from Canada. At 29 years old, he brings experience from his time in the Canadian Premier League, most recently with Valour FC. Having been without a club since early November, Froese is expected to add creativity and attacking balance to Semen Padang’s midfield.
The second new arrival is Ravy Tsouka, a right-back from Congo. The 30-year-old defender has previously played in several European leagues, including spells in Italy, Sweden, and Romania. He has been a free agent since mid-2025, making his move to Indonesia a fresh challenge in his career.
These early signings reflect Semen Padang’s proactive approach in addressing weaknesses within the squad. By securing players who are already available, the club aims to accelerate their adaptation process and gain immediate impact once competition resumes.
Semen Padang FC are currently struggling near the bottom of the league standings, sitting in 17th place after collecting only seven points from 13 matches. The arrival of Froese and Tsouka is seen as part of a broader effort to escape the relegation zone and stabilize the team’s performance for the remainder of the season.
