Manchester City will play current holders Newcastle in the semi-final of the Carabao Cup

The draw followed tonight’s 2-0 victory over Brentford in the fifth round with Rayan Cherki and Savinho grabbing the goals.
Last-four ties will be played over two legs with the first scheduled for the week commencing 12 January 2026 at St James’ Park.
The second leg will be played at the Etihad in the week commencing 2 February 2026.
It is the first time we have reached the semi-finals of the League Cup since the 2020/21 season when we lifted the trophy for an eighth occasion.
Our victory over Brentford comes after a 2-0 victory over League One side Huddersfield Town followed by a 3-1 at Championship Club Swansea City.
