Forest Weigh Early Exit for Zinchenko as Dyche Eyes Left-Back Reinforcement

Nottingham Forest is reportedly considering an early termination of Oleksandr Zinchenko's loan deal as the January transfer window approaches. Despite joining from Arsenal in the summer to provide competition on the left flank, the Ukrainian international has struggled for consistent game time, appearing in only three league matches during September and October.
An untimely injury sidelined Zinchenko during the early stages of Sean Dyche’s tenure. Since returning to fitness, he has found himself largely excluded from the Premier League matchday squads, featuring only twice as an unused substitute in recent games against Tottenham and Fulham. While he has seen minutes in the Europa League—including a comeback appearance against Utrecht—he has failed to displace Neco Williams, who has firmly established himself as the starting left-back.
According to The Telegraph, Forest is prioritizing the signing of a new left-back next month to bolster their defensive options. This search for reinforcements, combined with the impending return of Ola Aina from a hamstring injury, has placed Zinchenko’s future at the City Ground in doubt.
In addition to defensive changes, Dyche is reportedly targeting a reunion with Everton winger Dwight McNeil. Having managed the 26-year-old at both Burnley and Everton, Dyche views McNeil as a key addition to revitalize the squad's attacking width. Zinchenko, while acknowledging the uncertainty, has expressed a desire to prove his value to the club, but the absence of a January recall clause means any early exit would require a mutual agreement between Forest and Arsenal.
