Borneo FC Bolsters Defense with Key Loan Signing Cleylton Santos

Borneo FC has strengthened its squad by securing central defender Cleylton Santos from Persis Solo on a loan deal until the end of the 2025-26 Super League season. The move comes as the club seeks to maintain its competitiveness in the title race and address gaps in its defensive line.
The Brazilian defender is known not only for his solid defending but also for his goal-scoring instincts, making him a valuable addition to Borneo’s backline. His arrival complements an already experienced defense that includes players such as Christophe Nduwarugira, Mohamed Baker, Diego Michiels, and Komang Teguh.
Santos brings proven experience in Indonesian football, having played 15 matches in the first half of the season for Persis Solo while contributing goals and assists. His familiarity with the league is expected to help him adapt quickly to his new team.
The presence of Brazilian head coach Fabio Lefundes is anticipated to further accelerate Santos’s integration into Borneo FC. Management is confident that his skills and experience will provide immediate defensive stability and help maintain the team’s consistency in the upper ranks of the table.
Santos has already joined team training sessions and is preparing to feature in upcoming matches, including the crucial clash against PSIM Jogja. His arrival signals Borneo FC’s clear intent to compete strongly in the remainder of the season.
