Team News
Wolves come into this Premier League clash in inconsistent form, sitting in the lower mid-table and battling to pull away from the relegation scrap. Their home record at Molineux has been a real strength though – they’ve taken points against several big sides this season and are hard to beat when the crowd is behind them. Recent weeks have seen them draw too many games they should have won, partly due to a lack of cutting edge in the final third. Injuries are a concern: key defender Yerson Mosquera remains out (knee), and forward Sasa Kalajdzic is still sidelined long-term. Matheus Cunha is fit again and has been their main goal threat, while Hwang Hee-chan and Jørgen Strand Larsen offer pace and physicality. Expect a 4-2-3-1 with José Sá in goal, wing-backs pushing high, midfield grit from João Gomes and Mario Lemina, and Cunha leading the line with support from wingers. Wolves will look to press aggressively in midfield, win second balls, and hit Chelsea on the counter.

Chelsea, under their current management, are pushing hard for a top-four finish and have shown real improvement in both defence and attack. They come off a strong run of results, including important away wins, and boast one of the league’s better defensive records over the last two months. Injuries are easing: Reece James is back in contention (though likely to be managed), while Wesley Fofana and Romeo Lavia remain long-term absentees. Cole Palmer is in outstanding form (leading the team in goals and assists), and Nicolas Jackson has found consistency in front of goal. Expect a 4-2-3-1 with Robert Sánchez in goal, a back four featuring Malo Gusto, Wesley Fofana (if fit) or Tosin Adarabioyo, Levi Colwill and Marc Cucurella, midfield anchored by Moisés Caicedo and Enzo Fernández, and Palmer, Noni Madueke/Christopher Nkunku, and Mykhailo Mudryk supporting Jackson. Chelsea will aim to control possession, use quick combinations in the final third, and exploit spaces behind Wolves’ high line.

Head to Head Analysis
Chelsea have historically dominated this fixture, winning six of the last eight Premier League meetings (including a 2-0 home win earlier this season). At Molineux, however, the record is much tighter: Wolves are unbeaten in their last three home games against Chelsea (one win, two draws), often frustrating the Blues with physical defending and quick transitions. Recent clashes have been competitive – five of the last seven produced over 2.5 goals, with both teams scoring in four of those. Chelsea usually control more possession and create better chances, but Wolves are dangerous on the counter (especially through Cunha and Hwang) and strong from set pieces. Expect a fast-paced, end-to-end game with plenty of transitions – Chelsea’s quality should shine in open spaces, but Wolves can punish any complacency.

Prediction
Wolves’ home energy and counter-attacking threat can make this very awkward for Chelsea early – Molineux is a tough place when the crowd is up for it, and they’ve already taken points off several big teams there this season. Chelsea, though, look the more complete side right now: better organised defensively, more clinical in attack, and carrying real momentum. Palmer’s form and the quality of their midfield should allow them to control large parts of the game and create high-quality chances. Wolves may nick a goal on the break or from a set piece, but Chelsea’s depth and ability to manage games should see them through. Expect goals at both ends, but Chelsea to edge a tight, entertaining contest.

Final Prediction: Chelsea win 2-1 (or 3-1). Away side to take the points – around 65% confidence in a Chelsea victory, with both teams to score and over 2.5 goals very likely.
