Bayern Munich Eye Cut-Price Move for Newcastle Striker Nick Woltemade

Bayern Munich are reportedly considering a move for Newcastle United forward Nick Woltemade, whose future at the Premier League club has become uncertain after a dip in form. The German striker arrived in England with high expectations but has struggled to maintain the strong start that initially justified his expensive transfer.
Newcastle signed Woltemade from VfB Stuttgart last summer for a fee of around £69 million, bringing him in alongside Yoane Wissa as part of a long-term plan to strengthen the attack. The decision looked promising at first, as Woltemade scored five goals in his first six appearances, quickly establishing himself as an important contributor.
His momentum, however, faded as the season progressed. Since November, goals have been scarce, and he has endured a lengthy run of matches without finding the net. In recent games, he has often begun on the bench while Wissa has taken the central role in the starting lineup, a shift that has fueled speculation about his position in the squad.
Reports suggest Newcastle may be open to listening to offers before the next season, despite the significant investment made to secure his services. Bayern Munich have re-emerged as a serious admirer, having previously shown interest before being outbid. The Bundesliga champions are believed to view the 23-year-old as a long-term project who could develop within their system.
A major obstacle remains the gap in valuation between the two clubs. Bayern are thought to be willing to negotiate only if the price falls to around £30–40 million, far below Newcastle’s original outlay. Whether Newcastle choose to accept a reduced fee or retain the striker in hopes of a resurgence could become one of the more intriguing storylines of the upcoming summer transfer window.
