Team News
Liverpool are in outstanding form, sitting top of the Premier League with the best attacking record in the division and an almost perfect home run at Anfield (unbeaten in their last 15 league games there). They come into this match fresh off a convincing midweek win in Europe, with confidence sky-high. Injuries are easing: Trent Alexander-Arnold is back in full training and pushing for a start, while Alisson Becker is fit again after a minor knock. Expect Arne Slot to field his strongest possible 4-3-3 with Alisson in goal, a back four featuring Trent, Ibrahima Konaté, Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson, midfield trio Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch and Dominik Szoboszlai, and the lethal front three of Mohamed Salah, Darwin Núñez and Cody Gakpo (or Luis Díaz). Liverpool will press aggressively from the front, dominate possession and look to overload the flanks with pace and creativity in front of the Kop.

West Ham United are in the lower mid-table, battling inconsistency and a poor recent run (winless in their last four league games, including heavy defeats). Their away form has been particularly worrying – only a couple of points picked up on the road all season – and they have been leaking goals far too easily against top-half sides. No major new injuries: striker Jarrod Bowen is fit again and remains their main goal threat, while midfielders Edson Álvarez and Lucas Paquetá provide some energy. Expect Julen Lopetegui to deploy a compact 4-2-3-1 or 5-4-1 with Alphonse Areola in goal, a deep back five when defending, midfield grit from Álvarez and Tomáš Souček, and forwards Bowen, Michail Antonio and Crysencio Summerville looking to hit on counters. West Ham will aim to stay narrow, frustrate Liverpool early and hope for a set-piece or rare transition.

Head to Head Analysis
Liverpool have completely dominated this fixture in recent years, winning 7 of the last 8 Premier League meetings (including a 3-1 home win last season). At Anfield, Liverpool are unbeaten in their last 10 home games against West Ham (9 wins, 1 draw), often winning comfortably through superior possession, quick transitions and set-piece execution. West Ham have not won at Anfield since 2015 and have failed to score in four of their last six visits. Games tend to be one-sided when these teams meet at Liverpool’s home: the Reds usually control possession (65%+), create high-quality chances through wide overloads and combinations, and limit West Ham to very few opportunities. West Ham can frustrate for 20–30 minutes with deep blocks and physical defending, but they rarely have enough sustained attacking threat to seriously trouble Liverpool for the full 90 minutes.

Prediction
Anfield is a fortress this season and Liverpool’s relentless pressing, attacking fluency and home intensity make this a very clear mismatch. West Ham are well-organised when they defend deep and can threaten on counters with Bowen’s pace, but their poor away record against top sides and current lack of confidence limit their chances of getting anything here. Expect Liverpool to dominate from the start, break through after halftime via Salah’s runs, Núñez’s physicality or set-piece execution, and secure a comfortable home win. West Ham may nick a consolation late if Liverpool chase the game, but a clean sheet is more likely given the Reds’ defensive solidity at Anfield.

Final Prediction: Liverpool win 3-0 (or 3-1). Very high confidence in a home victory – around 80% chance of Liverpool winning comfortably, with over 2.5 goals very likely.
