Sevilla Targets Daichi Kamada for Summer Free Transfer

Sevilla has identified attacking midfielder Daichi Kamada of Crystal Palace as a key target for the upcoming summer transfer window. With Kamada’s contract set to expire at the end of the season, the Spanish club sees an opportunity to acquire the Japanese international without paying a transfer fee.
Kamada joined Crystal Palace in the summer of 2024 after leaving Lazio on a free transfer. While he has not consistently started matches under manager Oliver Glasner, he has remained an important part of the squad rotation, contributing regularly in both domestic and European competitions.
The 29-year-old midfielder has made 32 appearances this season, accumulating over 2,200 minutes on the pitch and scoring two goals. His consistent presence and versatility make him a valuable option even when not featuring in the starting lineup.
Kamada’s ability to operate in multiple midfield roles—including central, attacking, and wide positions—aligns with Sevilla’s desire to boost creativity in their attacking play. The club views his expiring contract as a strategic opportunity to strengthen their squad without major financial outlay, aiming to use a Bosman-style free transfer approach.
Despite Sevilla’s interest, Kamada’s future remains uncertain. Crystal Palace still has the chance to offer a contract extension to retain him in the Premier League, but if no agreement is reached, Sevilla could benefit from his European experience and technical ability to enhance their midfield for the next season.
