Team News
Rakow Czestochowa come into this UEFA Conference League knockout play-off second leg in a difficult position after a narrow 1-0 defeat in the first leg in Florence. They sit comfortably mid-table in the Polish Ekstraklasa with a strong home record at Stadion Miejski (unbeaten in their last six home games across all competitions), and they have been dangerous in European ties at home this season (winning three of four). No major new injury concerns: key striker Vladyslav Kocherhin is fit again and remains their main goal threat, while midfielders Giannis Papanikolaou and John Yeboah provide energy and creativity. Expect Marek Papszun to go very attacking in a 3-4-2-1 or 4-2-3-1 with Vladan Kovacevic in goal, a back three featuring Zoran Arsenic and Bogdan Racovitan, wing-backs Bogdan Racovitan and Fran Tudor pushing high, midfield anchored by Papanikolaou and Ben Lederman, and attack led by Kocherhin, Yeboah and Ante Crnac or Ivi López. Rakow will press intensely from the start and look to force the tie with early goals in front of a passionate home crowd.

Fiorentina hold the slim 1-0 advantage from the first leg and arrive knowing one away goal would force Rakow to score four times to progress. They sit inside the top four in Serie A with a very organised defensive unit and dangerous counter-attacking threat. No significant new injury issues: key forward Moise Kean is fit and has been in excellent goal-scoring form, while midfielder Rolando Mandragora is available again. Expect Raffaele Palladino to set up a compact 4-2-3-1 with Pietro Terracciano in goal, a back four featuring Michael Kayode and Cristiano Biraghi, midfield anchored by Mandragora and Sofyan Amrabat, and attack led by Kean, Nicolás González and Jonathan Ikoné or Giacomo Bonaventura. Fiorentina will aim to stay disciplined, absorb pressure and hit on quick counters through González and Kean’s pace.

Head to Head Analysis
This is only the second competitive meeting between the clubs. The first leg in Florence finished 1-0 to Fiorentina in a very tight, tactical game – Fiorentina controlled large spells without creating many clear chances, while Rakow were dangerous on the counter but lacked a cutting edge in the final third. Historically the fixture is brand new, but Fiorentina have a good recent record against Polish sides away (unbeaten in their last three European away games vs Polish opposition). Matches involving Rakow at home tend to be high-intensity and goal-filled when they push forward (over 2.5 goals in 5 of their last 7 home European games), while Fiorentina have struggled to keep clean sheets away against aggressive pressing teams. Expect another physical, end-to-end contest – Rakow will chase the game early, while Fiorentina are dangerous on the break and from set pieces.

Prediction
The Stadion Miejski will be a very difficult venue and Rakow’s home intensity, high pressing and counter-attacking quality give them a real chance to turn the tie. They are perfectly suited to punish any mistakes from Fiorentina’s high defensive line, and Kocherhin’s experience in big games should make the difference in tight moments. Fiorentina are extremely well-organised under Palladino, remain dangerous on the counter (González, Kean threat) and have shown composure in big away games, but they have occasionally been caught out by aggressive pressing sides. This should be an open, high-tempo clash with chances at both ends – Rakow likely to score first and force Fiorentina to chase, leading to a high-scoring affair. Very tight tie, but the home advantage and current momentum tip it to the Poles.

Final Prediction: Rakow Czestochowa win 2-1 (aggregate 2-2, Rakow progress on away goals or penalties). Home side to force extra time – around 60% confidence in a Rakow win on the night, with both teams to score and over 2.5 goals very likely.
