Atletico Madrid Keeps Mason Greenwood on Their Summer Radar

Atletico Madrid is preparing for a busy summer, particularly with plans to revamp their attacking lineup. With Antoine Griezmann’s future still uncertain despite rejecting a move to Major League Soccer, the club is exploring several potential replacements to strengthen their forward options.
One target under consideration is Kang-In Lee, with Atletico having opened talks last winter and planning a summer offer. Paris Saint-Germain also wants to retain the South Korean winger, making competition for his signature significant.
In addition, Atletico continues to monitor Mason Greenwood, who previously drew attention from both Barcelona and the club itself during his time in Spain. After moving to Olympique Marseille, Greenwood has flourished in France, keeping him on Atletico’s radar as a possible reinforcement, particularly if Julian Alvarez were to leave.
Greenwood has had an impressive season under Roberto De Zerbi at Marseille, scoring 25 goals and providing 8 assists in 38 appearances. His performances have established him as the club’s top scorer and one of the leading goal threats in Ligue 1, highlighting his potential value to Atletico’s attack.
Despite the interest in Greenwood, Atletico currently has no plans to sell Julian Alvarez, whose style differs from Greenwood’s. The team already has options on the right wing with Giuliano Simeone offering similar attacking threat, ensuring that any new additions would complement rather than directly replace existing players. The upcoming summer transfer window promises an exciting period as Atletico refines their strategy.
