Hugo Ekitike Faces Long-Term Layoff After Suspected Achilles Rupture in Champions League Clash

Liverpool forward Hugo Ekitike was forced off with an injury during the UEFA Champions League quarter-final second leg at home against Paris Saint-Germain. This injury could potentially rule him out for a long period and see him miss the World Cup.
Following Ekitike’s injury, Saudi Arabian sports injury rehabilitation specialist Abdul Salam Al-Shammari expressed serious concern, suggesting that the injury is likely an Achilles tendon rupture, which could sideline him for 9 to 12 months.
The doctor also shared his personal experience: “I ruptured my Achilles tendon 14 years ago… I underwent more than three years of physical therapy because of it, and even now, I sometimes still feel afraid to play football.”
