Garudayaksa Makes History as First Club to Secure Promotion to BRI Super League 2026/2027.

Garudayaksa FC has officially become the first team to earn promotion to the 2026/2027 BRI Super League, marking a historic milestone for the club. Under the leadership of Widodo Cahyono Putro, the team sealed their place in the top tier after a decisive final matchday performance in Group 1 of the Pegadaian Championship 2025/2026.
This season introduced a new competition structure, with 20 clubs split into two groups of 10. Each group winner secures automatic promotion, while the two runners-up must battle for the final available spot through a playoff. The format has added intensity to the race, especially on the last day of the group stage.
Heading into the final round, Garudayaksa and Adhyaksa FC were separated by just one point. Both teams delivered strong results, with Garudayaksa defeating Persikad 3–1 and Adhyaksa overpowering Sriwijaya FC 4–0. Despite Adhyaksa’s impressive win, Garudayaksa’s victory ensured they finished at the top of the standings.
As a result, Garudayaksa claimed direct promotion to Indonesia’s highest football division, while Adhyaksa must now prepare for the playoff round to keep their promotion hopes alive. Their journey is not over, but the pressure will be much greater in the decisive match ahead.
Attention now shifts to Group 2, where PSS Sleman and Persipura Jayapura are locked on 53 points. With only goal difference separating them, the final matchday promises another dramatic finish as one of them looks to join Garudayaksa in the BRI Super League next season.
