Erling Haaland Extends Premier League Dominance With Third Golden Boot Triumph
Erling Haaland once again proved himself as one of the deadliest strikers in world football after winning the Premier League Golden Boot for the third time in his career. The Manchester City forward finished the 2025/2026 league season with 27 goals, continuing his remarkable consistency in front of goal and maintaining his dominance in English football.
Haaland ended the campaign five goals ahead of Igor Thiago from Brentford, who secured second place in the scoring charts with 22 goals. The Norwegian striker's latest achievement marked his third Golden Boot award in the last four seasons, strengthening his reputation as the league's most reliable goalscorer since arriving in England.
The striker first captured the award during his debut season with Manchester City after producing a record-breaking total of 36 league goals. He followed that performance with another Golden Boot in the 2023/2024 season after scoring 27 goals. This season's identical tally confirmed that Haaland's impressive standards have remained unchanged despite increasingly competitive conditions in the Premier League.
Haaland's influence remained crucial for Manchester City throughout the season. His movement, physical strength, and finishing ability constantly troubled opposing defenses, even during periods when the club faced difficult fixtures and strong competition at the top of the table. His ability to maintain high scoring numbers under pressure became one of the key factors behind Manchester City's title challenge.
Several other forwards also enjoyed productive campaigns in England this season. Antoine Semenyo impressed after contributing 17 goals following his move to Manchester City from Bournemouth in January. Ollie Watkins finished as the highest-scoring English player with 16 goals for Aston Villa, while Joao Pedro, Morgan Gibbs-White, Viktor Gyokeres, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin also finished among the league's top scorers.
