Uncertainty Surrounds Supercoppa Italiana Final Between Inter and Lazio
The 2026 Supercoppa Italiana final between Inter Milan and Lazio still has no confirmed date or venue as league officials continue evaluating several possible scenarios. The competition is expected to return to a single-match format next season.
Serie A organizers have already released most of the calendar for the upcoming campaign, but the Supercoppa remains unresolved. Questions over scheduling and location have delayed the final decision regarding one of Italy's major domestic trophies.
Current discussions suggest the most likely option is to stage the match in December 2026, specifically around December 22 or 23. Under this format, the trophy would be decided in a one-off clash involving the Serie A champions and Coppa Italia representatives.
Another possibility under consideration is holding the match earlier in August if it remains in Italy. However, that scenario depends heavily on the Coppa Italia schedules of both Inter and Lazio, who are expected to enter the tournament from the early rounds.
League officials are also reviewing offers from overseas hosts for the event. Morocco, especially the city of Casablanca, has emerged as a leading candidate, while several other African nations are reportedly interested in staging the prestigious final.
