Liverpool Close in on £104m Diomande as Iraola Era and Major Squad Overhaul Begin
Liverpool are preparing for a major summer rebuild as Andoni Iraola is set to take over as manager, marking the start of a new era at Anfield. The club is also moving quickly in the transfer market, with Yan Diomande reportedly agreeing to join as part of their long-term squad planning.
The departure of key players such as Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson, and Ibrahima Konaté has forced Liverpool into an urgent restructuring of the squad. Defensive reinforcements are already being lined up, with Jeremy Jacquet expected to arrive after a significant deal agreed earlier, while Milos Kerkez and Kostas Tsimikas remain options at left-back.
Liverpool's biggest concern lies in attack, where depth has been severely weakened due to Salah's exit and Hugo Ekitike's long-term injury. With Alexander Isak also not fully reliable in terms of fitness, the arrival of Diomande is seen as a crucial boost for the club's forward line.
Diomande, currently impressing at RB Leipzig, has agreed terms ahead of a potential summer move, with Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain now needing to negotiate a fee that could reach £104 million. The 19-year-old has delivered standout numbers this season, making him one of the most sought-after young attackers in Europe.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are also competing with Manchester United for West Ham midfielder Mateus Fernandes, who is attracting strong interest across Europe. With several top clubs involved, the race for his signature is expected to be highly competitive as both Premier League giants continue reshaping their squads.
