Persik Continues Squad Revamp as Novri Setiawan Completes Transfer to Semen Padang
Persik Kediri has accelerated its squad restructuring ahead of the 2026/2027 season, with experienced right-back Novri Setiawan becoming the latest player to leave the club. His departure is part of a broader rebuilding strategy as the team prepares for a fresh campaign in Indonesian football.
Novri's exit makes him the tenth player to part ways with Persik during the offseason. After ending his spell with the White Tigers, the 32-year-old completed a permanent transfer to Semen Padang, marking a return to a club from his home region in West Sumatra. The move represents a new chapter in his long professional career.
The veteran defender joined Persik at the beginning of the 2025/2026 BRI Super League season after leaving Bali United. Throughout the campaign, he shared the right-back position with Henhen Herdiana and brought valuable experience to the team's defensive unit. His leadership and professionalism earned him recognition within the club.
During his only season with Persik, Novri made 11 league appearances and accumulated 698 minutes on the pitch. Although his campaign included four yellow cards and one red card, he remained an important squad member thanks to his consistency and willingness to compete for a starting place.
Persik expressed appreciation for Novri's contributions while wishing him success in his next challenge. As the club continues reshaping its roster with ten departures already confirmed, the management hopes the changes will help build a stronger and more competitive squad for the upcoming 2026/2027 season.
