Persib Strengthens Attack with Experienced Winger Luka Menalo Ahead of New Season

Persib Bandung has boosted its squad for the upcoming campaign by signing Bosnian winger Luka Menalo from FK Sarajevo. The club confirmed the move in Bandung, adding another important name to its roster as preparations continue for the 2026/27 season. Menalo joins the Indonesian side on a one-year contract and is expected to provide greater attacking depth.

The arrival of the 28-year-old forward reflects head coach Igor Tolic's plan to strengthen the team following the additions of Gabriel Mutombo and Sandy Walsh. Club management believes Menalo's versatility and experience will improve Persib's offensive options across domestic and international competitions.

During his time with FK Sarajevo, Menalo made 21 appearances, contributing three goals and three assists in 1,399 minutes of action. Before returning to Bosnia, he enjoyed a successful spell with Dinamo Zagreb, where he was part of multiple Croatian league title-winning campaigns between 2018 and 2025.

Beyond his domestic achievements, Menalo has also gained valuable experience in European competitions, including the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League. His background at a higher competitive level is expected to benefit Persib as the club prepares for challenges in the AFC Champions League Two and the ASEAN Club Championship.

Persib's management views the signing as a carefully planned decision designed to meet the team's tactical needs. The club hopes Menalo will settle in quickly, deliver consistent performances, and play a significant role in helping Persib remain competitive while meeting the expectations of its passionate supporters.
