Persib Strengthens Midfield with the Signing of Experienced Japanese Star Gakuto Notsuda

Persib Bandung has officially completed the signing of Japanese midfielder Gakuto Notsuda as part of its preparations for the 2026/27 season. The experienced player arrives from Thailand's BG Pathum United on a one-year contract, adding greater depth and quality to the club's midfield as it aims to remain competitive throughout the campaign.

At 32 years old, Notsuda brings extensive experience from top-level football across Asia. A product of Sanfrecce Hiroshima's academy, he spent more than a decade competing in Japan's J1 League, where he also represented Albirex Niigata and Shimizu S-Pulse. His most recent spell with BG Pathum United further strengthened his reputation through appearances in both domestic competitions and the AFC Champions League Two.

Persib's management identified Notsuda as an ideal addition because of his versatility and proven ability to perform in multiple midfield positions. Capable of operating as a defensive, central, or attacking midfielder, he is expected to provide tactical flexibility while enhancing the team's balance in both attack and defense.

The recruitment was made following the recommendation of head coach Igor Tolic, who believes Notsuda's experience, technical ability, and game intelligence will make a valuable contribution to the squad. His arrival is also expected to introduce greater creativity and composure in the middle of the pitch.

Notsuda becomes the latest Japanese footballer to represent Persib Bandung, joining a list of players from Japan who have previously worn the club's colors. With his wealth of experience and consistent performances at the highest levels of Asian football, the midfielder is expected to play an important role as Persib pursues success in the upcoming Liga 1 season.
