Napoli Set €10 Million Asking Price as Turkish Giants Target Romelu Lukaku
Napoli are reportedly prepared to part ways with Romelu Lukaku during the summer transfer window as the club reshapes its attacking lineup. The Belgian striker is no longer considered a central figure in the team's future plans, prompting the Italian side to make him available for transfer.
Fenerbahce and Besiktas have emerged as the leading contenders for Lukaku's signature. Napoli are seeking a transfer fee of €10 million, a figure that matches the player's book value and allows the club to complete the deal without taking a financial loss.
Although Lukaku remains under contract until June 2027 and earns one of the highest salaries in the squad, his performances during the previous season did not fully meet expectations. Injuries also limited his consistency, even though he continued to make valuable contributions when called upon.
Napoli's decision is closely linked to the arrival of new head coach Massimiliano Allegri, who is expected to introduce a different tactical approach. Offloading Lukaku would reduce the club's wage bill and create greater financial flexibility to recruit players better suited to the manager's preferred system.
The striker's substantial salary narrows the list of potential buyers, but Turkish clubs are considered capable of meeting those financial demands. As a result, Fenerbahce and Besiktas are well positioned to negotiate a deal, with Napoli's willingness to sell driven primarily by strategic and economic considerations rather than doubts about Lukaku's overall ability.
