Pratama Arhan Returns Home to Strengthen Persija with Three-Year Deal

Persija Jakarta has reinforced its squad ahead of the 2026/27 season by securing the signing of Indonesian left-back Pratama Arhan on a three-year contract. The move reflects the club’s determination to build a stronger and more competitive team as it prepares for the upcoming campaign.
Arhan began his professional career with PSIS Semarang, where he impressed between 2020 and 2022 before pursuing opportunities overseas. His first destination was Japan, joining Tokyo Verdy in the J2 League. He later continued his journey in South Korea with Suwon FC before moving to Thailand, where he enjoyed his most active spell with Bangkok United, making 20 league appearances while also competing in regional and continental tournaments.
At the international level, Arhan has become one of Indonesia’s most dependable players, earning more than 50 caps for the national team. His experience includes appearances in major competitions such as the AFF Championship and the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, while also helping Indonesia claim the gold medal at the 2023 SEA Games.
Persija's management believes Arhan’s experience, quality, and professionalism will strengthen the team's defensive depth while creating healthy competition within the squad. His arrival is viewed as an important step in improving the club’s overall performance and ambitions for the new season.
For Arhan, joining Persija marks an exciting return to Indonesian football after several years abroad. The transfer also reunites him with coach Shin Tae-yong, a familiar figure from his time with the national team. Looking ahead, the defender is focused on adapting quickly, contributing consistently, and helping Persija pursue success alongside its passionate supporters throughout the coming seasons.
