Persib Strengthens Attack with Montenegro International Balsa Sekulic

Persib Bandung has completed the signing of Montenegro international striker Balsa Sekulic to reinforce its attacking line ahead of the 2026/27 season. The move came shortly after the club confirmed the departure of Andrew Jung, with management acting quickly to secure a replacement. The 28-year-old forward has signed a two-year contract and is expected to play a key role in the team's offensive plans.

Before joining Persib, Sekulic played for FK Mornar during the 2025–26 campaign. He enjoyed an impressive season, making 48 appearances and scoring 22 goals. His consistent performances highlighted his finishing ability and helped establish him as one of the club's most reliable attacking players.

According to Persib's management, the signing was made following recommendations from the coaching staff and was designed to address the team's immediate needs after Jung's exit. Club officials believe Sekulic possesses the experience, technical qualities, and playing style required to strengthen the squad while adding greater depth and competition in the forward position.

Beyond his club career, Sekulic remains an active member of the Montenegro national football team. He recently featured in international friendlies, including matches against Slovakia and Bulgaria. His goal against Bulgaria secured a victory for Montenegro, demonstrating that he continues to perform effectively on the international stage.

Persib hopes Sekulic's blend of international experience and prime-age maturity will help the club remain competitive throughout the 2026/27 campaign. The coaching staff expects him to adapt quickly to football in Bandung, replace the attacking influence left by Jung, and provide the firepower needed as the team competes in the domestic league and other competitions.
