Inter Weigh Budget-Friendly Transfer Plan as Ivan Perisic Return Gains Momentum

Inter Milan are preparing two different transfer strategies as they look to strengthen both the wing-back and central defense positions this summer. Following the departure of Denzel Dumfries, the club is balancing the pursuit of high-profile targets with more affordable alternatives.

The Nerazzurri initially planned to invest around €50 million in Marco Palestra, but that move collapsed before they shifted their focus to Anan Khalaili. A subsequent deal for the young talent also failed after medical concerns, forcing Inter to rethink their transfer approach.

Attention has now turned to Tottenham Hotspur's Djed Spence and Feyenoord's Kenneth Read, with both players expected to command significant transfer fees. Inter are reportedly evaluating whether such an investment is justified to replace Dumfries, especially given the club's broader squad-building priorities.

As a more economical solution, the Italian giants are also considering a reunion with former star Ivan Perisic. The experienced Croatian winger, now 37, could become available from PSV Eindhoven for a relatively low fee, making him an attractive short-term option.

Inter are applying the same strategy in central defense after missing out on Oumar Solet and Trevoh Chalobah. With those moves no longer possible, free agent John Stones has emerged as another cost-effective candidate as the club looks to reinforce its squad without exceeding its transfer budget.
