Arsenal Set for Multi-Million FIFA Windfall After Players Shine at 2026 World Cup

Arsenal are expected to receive a significant financial boost following the conclusion of the 2026 FIFA World Cup through FIFA's Club Benefits Programme. With 15 players representing their national teams during the tournament, the North London club will be rewarded for releasing its squad members for international duty.

Several Arsenal players enjoyed deep runs in the competition, with Martin Zubimendi and Mikel Merino helping Spain defeat Argentina in the final, while goalkeeper David Raya was also part of the championship-winning squad. Meanwhile, Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka, Noni Madueke, and Eberechi Eze contributed to England's victory over France in the third-place playoff, adding to the club's overall compensation.

FIFA's compensation system rewards clubs based on the number of days players spend with their national teams, beginning from their mandatory release until one day after their country's final match. Those who reached the latter stages of the tournament generated the largest payments, while players eliminated earlier still contributed valuable compensation to their clubs.

Arsenal's earnings also came from players representing several other nations. William Saliba added another payment after France reached the third-place match, while Martin Ødegaard, Leandro Trossard, Gabriel Magalhães, Gabriel Martinelli, Kai Havertz, Viktor Gyökeres, and Piero Hincapié all increased the club's total through their respective World Cup campaigns.

The Gunners are projected to collect approximately £2.7 million from FIFA, although a portion of the money linked to recently signed or loaned players will be shared with their previous clubs. While the amount is unlikely to finance a marquee signing on its own, it provides Arsenal with additional flexibility as sporting director Andrea Berta and manager Mikel Arteta continue strengthening the squad during the summer transfer window.
