Curtis Jones Closing In on Inter Move as Liverpool Accept €35m Deal
Inter Milan are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones after nearly a year of negotiations. The Italian giants have submitted a formal offer worth €30 million upfront plus €5 million in potential bonuses, along with a future sell-on percentage.
Liverpool initially valued Jones at around €40 million, but the club has reportedly agreed to lower its demands to help move the transfer forward. A verbal agreement over a package worth €35 million is now said to be in place, with the formal proposal completing an important step in the negotiations.
Jones has reportedly been keen on a move to Inter since January, and discussions over personal terms are continuing between the midfielder, his representatives and the Serie A club. With the player already enthusiastic about the possibility of moving to Italy, negotiations over the final details are expected to progress quickly.
If the remaining formalities are completed, Jones could travel to Italy soon for his medical ahead of the weekend. However, he is unlikely to be involved in Inter's opening Serie A fixture against Monza, although he could attend the match at San Siro and be presented to the supporters.
The transfer would make Jones one of the latest English players to join Inter, following John Stones and Djed Spence. For Inter, securing the versatile young midfielder would represent another significant addition as they look to strengthen their squad for the new season.
