Persijap Jepara Strengthen Their Back Line With Ghanaian Defender Samuel Ofori
Persijap Jepara have strengthened their squad ahead of the 2026/2027 Super League season by signing Ghanaian defender Samuel Ofori. The arrival of the experienced center-back is expected to add greater stability and depth to the Laskar Kalinyamat defense as they prepare for a demanding campaign.
Born in Accra on April 6, 1999, Ofori stands at 185 cm and is known for his physical presence, particularly in aerial battles. Although primarily a right-footed center-back, he offers tactical flexibility because he can also operate as a right-back or defensive midfielder, giving Persijap more options when adjusting their formation.
Ofori arrives in Indonesia with an impressive international club background. During his time with Tajikistan side Ravshan Kulob, he helped the team finish as league runners-up and win the 2023 Tajik Super Cup. He also gained valuable continental experience through appearances in the AFC Cup and AFC Champions League Two.
His individual achievements further highlight the quality of the new signing. Ofori was previously named the best foreign player in the Tajikistan league and also helped his club claim a bronze medal at the 2024 INNOPROM Cup in Russia. Before moving to Indonesia, he played for Khosilot Farkhor and made 27 appearances for Cambodian club Kirivong Sok Sen Chey, while also having represented the Ghana U-20 national team.
Persijap will hope Ofori’s experience can become a major asset as they aim to compete near the top of the Super League standings. His physical strength, versatility, and international exposure could provide the defensive foundation needed to make the team more disciplined and difficult to break down throughout the 2026/2027 season.
