Tottenham Keep Nicolas Jackson on Radar as Spurs Seek More Firepower
Tottenham Hotspur are still interested in signing Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea as they look to add more quality and depth to their attacking options ahead of the new season. Despite plans to bring in Manchester City duo Omar Marmoush and Savinho, manager Roberto De Zerbi reportedly wants greater variety and competition in the final third.
Jackson has emerged as a potential target because he is believed to be outside Xabi Alonso's plans at Chelsea. Tottenham are not the only Premier League club monitoring the situation, with Aston Villa also showing interest as they prepare for the possibility of Ollie Watkins leaving the club.
Chelsea are reportedly valuing the 24-year-old forward at around £65 million. However, with the transfer window approaching its final days and Jackson seemingly not part of the first-team picture at Stamford Bridge, Tottenham could have an opportunity to negotiate a lower fee. His recent performances also make him an attractive option, particularly after contributing to 15 goals during his loan spell at Bayern Munich last season.
A move to north London would give Spurs a physically strong forward capable of offering more than just a presence in the penalty area. Jackson can use his strength to battle defenders, attack crosses, finish from close range and apply pressure high up the pitch. His ability to drop into midfield and hold up the ball also allows him to connect with teammates, while his experience operating from the left wing could provide De Zerbi with additional tactical flexibility.
However, Tottenham may need to balance their squad before making another major investment. With Marmoush and Savinho set to strengthen the attack, the club could first need to move some players on. Richarlison has been linked with a departure but has yet to attract a suitable offer. Jackson's future could therefore depend on Tottenham's outgoing business in the final days of the transfer window, making his potential move one to watch closely.
