Emil Audero Set for Spain Move as Rayo Vallecano Reach Loan Agreement

Emil Audero appears set to leave Como and begin a new chapter in his career in Spain. The Indonesia international goalkeeper is reportedly on his way to Rayo Vallecano, with the Madrid-based club agreeing a loan deal with Como for the upcoming season.

Audero spent the 2025/26 campaign away from Como after falling out of Cesc Fabregas' plans. He joined Cremonese on a season-long loan, hoping to secure regular playing time and establish himself as an important first-choice goalkeeper. However, Cremonese were relegated to Serie B, and the club ultimately decided against making his move permanent.

That left Audero facing an uncertain situation upon his return to Como. According to European transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Como received several offers for the goalkeeper during the summer, with Rayo Vallecano emerging as the most serious option. Rayo were looking for an experienced goalkeeper after Augusto Batalla suffered an injury that is expected to keep him out for several months.

Audero was considered a suitable solution because of his experience at the highest level and his ability to provide immediate competition and stability between the posts. Discussions between Como and Rayo eventually resulted in an agreement, with the Spanish club reportedly set to take the goalkeeper on loan for an entire season. Details regarding a potential permanent purchase option have not been disclosed.

The move would represent a major change for Audero, as he has spent his entire professional career in Italy. A spell with Rayo Vallecano would therefore mark his first experience playing for a club outside Italy. For the Indonesia international, the transfer could provide an important opportunity to gain a fresh start, experience a different football environment and prove himself in La Liga.
