Milan and Inter Set Ambitious 2031 Deadline for New San Siro

AC Milan and Inter Milan are moving closer to turning their long-discussed plans for a new San Siro into reality, with the ambitious goal of having the stadium ready by 2031. The target is designed to ensure the new venue can be fully operational ahead of EURO 2032, which is set to become a major milestone for Italian football.

More concrete details about the project have now emerged, including the expected timeline for construction and the financial scale involved. The latest plans indicate that the stadium's final design renderings are expected to be completed and presented in October 2026. While the new venue will have a modern identity, some elements associated with the existing San Siro are reportedly expected to be retained.

Construction is scheduled to begin during the second half of 2027, leaving the clubs with roughly four years to complete the project.
