Indonesia Reveal 23-Man Squad for FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026

Indonesia have officially announced their 23-player squad for the inaugural FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026, with head coach John Herdman selecting a mix of established internationals and several players looking to make a stronger impression at senior level. The Garuda squad will compete in Group A alongside Singapore, Malaysia, and Bangladesh, with all three group-stage matches scheduled to take place at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta.

Indonesia will begin their campaign against Singapore on September 25 at 8:00 p.m. WIB before facing Malaysia three days later at 7:30 p.m. Their final group fixture will be against Bangladesh on October 1, also at 7:30 p.m. The tournament itself will run from September 24 to October 5, with the group winners advancing directly to the final while the two runners-up will meet in the third-place playoff.

Herdman has retained a number of familiar names who have regularly featured for Indonesia in recent international assignments. The goalkeeping department includes Maarten Paes, Emil Audero, and Nadeo Argawinata, while the defensive options feature Justin Hubner, Kevin Diks, Dean James, Elkan Baggott, Rizky Ridho, Nathan Tjoe-A-On, Dony Tri Pamungkas, Dion Markx, and Yakob Sayuri. The selection provides a combination of international experience and younger options across the back line.

The midfield is made up of Rayhan Hannan, Jordy Amat, Egy Maulana Vikri, Calvin Verdonk, Joey Pelupessy, Ivar Jenner, and Thom Haye. In attack, Herdman has selected Luke Vickery, Mitch Bakker, Ole Romeny, and Ragnar Oratmangoen. Vickery is among the more notable inclusions after previously joining Indonesia training camps during FIFA Matchday periods, while Bakker has earned another opportunity following his involvement in the previous ASEAN Championship.

There are also several notable absences from the latest squad. Jay Idzes and Sandy Walsh are unavailable because of injuries, while Eliano Reijnders has not been included in the 23-man selection. With the tournament taking place on home soil, Indonesia will now prepare for a demanding group campaign against three regional opponents, with consistency across the three matches crucial to their hopes of reaching the final.
