Juventus Set Sights on Rayan Ait-Nouri as January Option Emerges
Juventus could turn their attention to Manchester City left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri during the January transfer window if Juan Cabal leaves the Turin club. The Italian side are expected to assess their options at left-back, with Ait-Nouri emerging as a potential target as they look to strengthen the squad during the second half of the season.
Juventus head into the international break after returning to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Atalanta. Goals from Francisco Conceicao and Gleison Bremer secured three points for the Bianconeri, lifting them to seventh place in the Serie A standings with 10 points from their opening five matches.
However, the squad has been affected by a number of injury problems. Manuel Locatelli, Khephren Thuram and Kamil Grabara are among the players facing lengthy absences, while Cabal is also currently recovering from injury. Although the Colombian defender is expected to return before the end of the year, his future at Juventus remains uncertain.
Juventus had already considered selling Cabal during the previous summer transfer window, with Bologna reportedly among the clubs interested in signing him. The proposed move did not materialise, while Juventus also failed to complete a deal for Nicolas Tagliafico, leaving the club without the additional left-back reinforcement they had initially hoped to secure.
With January approaching, Ait-Nouri has now emerged as a possible solution, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport. The Algerian international could reportedly arrive from Manchester City on loan with an option to make the transfer permanent, but Juventus would first need Cabal to leave. His departure could therefore be the key factor in determining whether the Turin club make a move for Ait-Nouri.
