Roma can still receive around 8 million euros from Calafiori's transfer

According to reports, given that Bologna defender Riccardo Calafiori is about to transfer to Arsenal, his former club Roma can still receive a share of the transfer fee.
Local Rome media outlet "Il Romanista" reports that due to a clause added by then Roma sporting director Tiago Pinto when Calafiori was sold to Basel, Roma can still receive a percentage of the fee from Basel. The report states that in 2022, when Calafiori left Roma for about 1.5 million euros, a 40% future transfer share clause was included. In the summer of 2023, Basel sold Calafiori to Bologna for about 4 million euros, with 40% of that amount going to Roma.
But that's not all. Basel also retained 50% of the future transfer fee, and now Calafiori is preparing to move to Arsenal for about 50 million euros. Therefore, Basel not only received 4 million euros (fixed part) from the sale of Calafiori, but also 50% of the proceeds Bologna will receive from selling the former Roma player.
Similarly, due to the contract signed by Tiago Pinto and Basel, Roma is entitled to 40% of the total revenue from Basel, including the fixed part (4 million euros) and the variable part (50% of the resale income). Basel has already paid 40% of the fixed part to Roma, and now only the variable part remains. After deducting various commissions, the variable part should be around 8 million euros.
