$77 Billion Over 11 Years! NBA Officially Announces New Media Agreements with Disney, NBC, and Amazon

The NBA officially announced today the renewal of its partnership with Disney and has reached new agreements with NBC and Amazon. According to the agreements, ABC/ESPN, NBC/Peacock, and Amazon Prime Video will broadcast NBA games from the 2025-26 season through the 2035-36 season.

According to The Athletic, the 11-year deal is valued at $77 billion. This agreement ensures that player salaries will continue to rise in the foreseeable future and will certainly change how some viewers watch games in the coming years. Additionally, this deal is expected to trigger legal disputes between TNT and the league.

The announcement reads in part: "The new media agreements will expand the reach of NBA television broadcasts, with all national games available on widely distributed streaming services (Prime Video, Peacock, and ESPN’s upcoming direct-to-consumer service), while significantly increasing exposure on broadcast television. Approximately 75 regular-season games will be broadcast on network television each season, up from the current minimum of 15 games under the existing agreement. NBA Commissioner Adam Silver stated, 'Our new global media agreements with Disney, NBC, and Amazon will maximize the impact of NBA games among fans in the U.S. and globally. These partners will deliver our content across various platforms and help transform the fan experience over the next decade.'

Disney, NBC, and Amazon have also secured unprecedented distribution rights for live WNBA games, with significantly increased coverage across broadcast, cable, and streaming platforms. Full details of the WNBA media agreements will be released in a separate press release."
