Guardiola Raises Doubts Over Ederson’s Future After Celtic Defeat

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has cast uncertainty over the future of Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson following the team's 4-3 defeat to Celtic in a pre-season friendly in North Carolina. Despite Ederson being Guardiola’s preferred choice last season, the goalkeeper has attracted interest from the Saudi Pro League.

Guardiola said, "I'd like him to stay but it depends on other clubs. I don't know the situation. There have been no contacts in the last days. It's a question of training, being with us until the transfer window finishes and we'll see."
Ederson featured in the second half of the match, which marked the Premier League champions' opening pre-season game. Meanwhile, Kalvin Phillips appears set to leave City, most likely on loan, after a disappointing spell at West Ham. Phillips was substituted at halftime to manage his recovery from an injury that sidelined him at the end of last season.
The game saw Erling Haaland captaining City and scoring an equalizer, but Celtic clinched victory with a goal from Luis Palma. City’s next pre-season match is against AC Milan in New York, while Celtic continues their US tour against Chelsea in Indiana.
