Atletico Madrid Engages Chelsea in Talks Over Conor Gallagher Transfer

Atletico Madrid has initiated discussions with Chelsea regarding the potential transfer of midfielder Conor Gallagher. The 24-year-old, who is currently on holiday after representing England in Euro 2024, has yet to agree to personal terms with the Spanish club. Convincing Gallagher to make the move may require additional effort, though Chelsea appears open to selling him as he enters the final year of his contract.

Despite exploratory talks this summer to renew his contract, it remains uncertain if the terms offered will be sufficient to retain Gallagher, who has been with Chelsea since the age of six. Last summer, Tottenham and West Ham expressed interest in Gallagher, but there has been minimal activity concerning a move to another Premier League club this year.

New Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca commented on Gallagher's situation before a match against Club America in Atlanta, stating, "The transfer window is open so unfortunately something can happen, not only with Conor, but all the players."

In parallel, Chelsea has shown interest in Atletico Madrid striker Samu Omorodion, although Omorodion is currently focused on the Olympics with Spain and is not entertaining offers. Chelsea has had at least one bid for Omorodion turned down this summer.
