Fulham Secure Signing of Spanish Defender Jorge Cuenca

Fulham have successfully signed Spanish defender Jorge Cuenca from Villarreal for an undisclosed fee. The 24-year-old has agreed to a four-year deal at Craven Cottage, with the club holding an option to extend his contract by an additional 12 months.
Cuenca, who has been capped up to the under-21 level for Spain, began his career at Alcorcón before moving to Barcelona and subsequently joining Villarreal. Last season, he made 37 appearances for Villarreal, contributing to their eighth-place finish in La Liga and their progression to the last 16 of the Europa League.

"I’m thrilled to join Fulham and take on the challenges of the Premier League," Cuenca said. "I look forward to contributing to the team’s success and growing as a player."
This signing follows Fulham's recent acquisition of Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe for an initial £27 million, setting a club record. Additionally, Ryan Sessegnon has returned to Fulham this summer on a two-year deal after his contract with Tottenham expired. The club is also actively pursuing Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay, having made a second bid of around £20 million for the Scotland international.
Fulham's ambitious moves in the transfer market reflect their determination to bolster their squad as they aim for a strong showing in the upcoming Premier League season.
