Man Utd Completes Signing of Uruguay's Manuel Ugarte from PSG

Manchester United has officially signed Uruguayan midfielder Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain for a potential fee of £50.5 million. The 23-year-old joins United on a five-year deal, with an option to extend for an additional year. The initial transfer fee is £42.1 million, with possible add-ons amounting to £8.4 million. This acquisition marks United's fifth signing of the summer, increasing their total spending to over £190 million.
Ugarte, who impressed at PSG with 37 appearances last season contributing to their 12th Ligue 1 title, expressed his excitement about joining a club of Manchester United's stature. He highlighted his determination to succeed and his eagerness to experience playing at Old Trafford. United's sporting director, Dan Ashworth, praised Ugarte as one of the best ball-winning midfielders and a valuable addition to their midfield lineup.
The move comes as part of significant changes at United, following the departure of Scott McTominay to Napoli for £25.7 million. Ugarte joins other summer signings, including Joshua Zirkzee and Matthijs de Ligt, as United continues to build under manager Erik ten Hag. With the addition of Ugarte, United aims to strengthen their squad and compete for top honors in the upcoming season.
